The Bondsman is a 2025 horror-action series for Prime Video, produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Television and Amazon MGM Studios and created by Grainger David. A gory, darkly funny slice of Southern gothic, it gives Kevin Bacon one of his juiciest recent roles as a man who discovers that death is only the beginning of his problems.
Bacon plays Hub Halloran, a hard-living Georgia bail bondsman who is murdered and then resurrected by the Devil, bound to a grisly new contract: hunt down the demons that have escaped Hell and send them back, or forfeit his own soul. As Hub juggles this infernal side job with his wrecked family life, his thwarted country-music dreams and his sharp-tongued mother (Beth Grant), the show leans into blood-soaked set pieces and twangy humour. Jennifer Nettles of the band Sugarland co-stars as Hub's ex-wife and former singing partner.
The eight-episode series was an immediate hit on Prime Video, topping the platform's charts and earning strong reviews, around an eighty-four percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, for Bacon's game performance and its blend of horror, comedy and honky-tonk music. Although Amazon ultimately did not renew it, it stands as a tight, self-contained supernatural romp. It is streaming on Prime Video.
