"Outsourced" TV Show tries hard to entertain while never offending. Employees in a call center situated in Mumbai, India must learn about American culture at least to familiarize themselves with the odd and sometimes embarrassing items they offer for sale through a U.S. business catalog. Mid America Novelties is one of those catalog mail order call centers that provide "flatulence" cushions, exploding cigarettes, bizarre party favors, and many other eccentric items for those who have a broad sense of humor. A shaky economy has forced the business to head to India where the outsourced jobs are most welcome. However Todd Dempsey (Ben Rappaport) has a lot to learn about Indian culture in order to lead his team of employees to success in sales. He attempts to teach them about American culture while he learns all he can about India and its cultural differences. Todd has an assistant manager who wants to move up the ladder and eager to learn employees who have difficulty understanding why American humor is so vastly different from their own. The NBC program is a hilarious sitcom that also shows that we aren't that much different no matter where we live.

A roast is defined as a public means of giving out insults, tributes, or even telling outlandish stories (be they true or outright lies) while keeping it fun and entertaining for all. There is a roast-master and the "roastee" is often a celebrity of some sort, and participants include friends, co-workers, fans, and family, many of whom also participate in putting the "roastee" on the hot seat. Among the "roastees" are Pamela Anderson, Denis Leary, William Shatner, David Hasselhoff, Donald Trump, Joan Rivers, and Charlie Sheen. Each of the participants have to have a thick skin and a broad sense of humor because some of the comments bestowed on them can be rather colorful and even downright mean spirited, yet all meant to be in fun. The 90 minute programs may have certain requests that some topics be left out of the final airing including William Shatner's request that the fact his late wife drown in their pool as well as Pamela Anderson asking that her bout with Hepatitis C be kept from the show. Charlie Sheen also requested jokes referencing his mother not be aired. Others have made no such requests, leaving themselves wide open for a happy roasting!

However, our heroine manages to enlist the help of one of her mentors: Dr. Micah Barnes (Michael Rady), who oversees fresh interns and to befriend with first-year surgical resident Tyra Dupre (Kelly McCreary). Besides the awkward moments showcased in almost every scene where we see Emily, there is one only thing that makes everyone uncomfortable to watch Emily Owens M.D. "“ the idea of "what this clumsy young being is doing here, in real-life hospital, as the real-life doctor, who is definitely should be responsible for the lives of patients?" From the other hand, it's just a TV show and all that mess is made by actors by screenplay, and while the last one thing is questionable, first one (the ensemble cast) looks perfect. Main protagonist, Emily Owen, is portrayed by inimitable Mamie Gummer, while her "sweetheart" Dr. Will Collins is played by Justin Hartley (a star of Smallville).

"Our Flag Means Death" is an upcoming American television series that is being produced by HBO Max. It is a comedy-adventure series that is loosely based on the true story of Stede Bonnet, a wealthy landowner who gave up his privileged life to become a pirate. The show will be produced by Taika Waititi, who is known for his work on "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Jojo Rabbit."

DreamWorks TV and producer Steven Spielberg are hoping their latest entry into prime time television lives up to its name. Smash is about the making of a Broadway musical play which involves the life of Marilyn Monroe. But personal conflicts among the cast members prove to be difficult to work with as they deal with the everyday demands of theater life and this musical in particular. Debra Messing stars as Julia Houston who is the co-writer as well as lyrist and song writer on Smash. Messing, formerly seen on Will & Grace, is an award winner with a musical background. Angelica Huston (Prizzi's Honor, The Adams Family) plays Eileen Rand the musical's producer who has to juggle handling a messy divorce along with the difficulty that goes with producing a Broadway musical. Frank Huston, Julia's husband is played by Brian d'Arcy James (Broadway's Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) is jealous of Tom Levett (Christian Borle from Broadway's Jesus Christ Superstar), Julia's partner and co-writer of Smash. The actress who finally gets the role of Marilyn is Ivy Lynn played by Megan Hilty from the Broadway production of 9 to 5: The Musical. Plenty of behind the scenes back biting helps keep this production on a bumpy road.
