Life of Pi, directed by Ang Lee and based on the Booker award-winning novel of Yann Martel, which was rewritten by David Magee for the movie, telling as a story about Indian boy survived shipwreck alongside with hyena, orangutan, a wounded zebra and a beautiful White Bengal tiger. Yann Martel have explored and studied lots of facts about an ocean life to give credence to story. That's why, despite the unbelievable storyline, the situations and solutions described in the movie could really take place in real life. The boy named Pi was raised in Indian family owning a zoo. At one day they decided to migrate in Canada with all of their animals and boarded the Japanese freighter. Soon after the leaving India, a shipwreck has killed all the people and animals except for little boy and four animals including furious tiger. All of them take a shelter on one small lifeboat. The boy has managed to survive in this uneasy situation for 227 days. A strong will to overcome the deadly perils, a faith in life and inexhaustible optimism leaded him to long journey adrift by the Pacific Ocean. The journey fortunately ends when their boat reaches the Mexico coast. The tiger (named Richard Parker, by the way) escapes to the nearest jungle, leaving the boy alone. Years after, Japanese Maritime officers interviews Pi in order to investigate the circumstances and consequences of shipwreck. Pi tells him as story about his peregrination, but no one believes him. Pi, feeling the lack of confidence, tells them another version of his wandering, without animals, instead of which a sailor, a cook and his mother act. In this butcherly version a cook kills a sailor and Pi's mother to use them as bait and food. After he tells the second story, Pi asks Japanese officers which of two versions they like most. When he gets the answer, confirming that story with animals is better, Pi says "…and so it goes with God".

While it's difficult to imagine Conan without Arnold Schwarzenegger this movie lives up to the reputation of the earlier Conan films. Plenty of action, especially after Conan's father is murdered and the village has been destroyed. Conan becomes a thief and a pirate as he sets out to become a magnificent warrior and is on the trail of the evil Khalar Zym, the person responsible for his tribe's village being destroyed and the death of his father.Conan the Barbarian becomes one because of the misery in his past and as he travels about he encounters women who want him along with plenty of adventures, monsters, and witches. Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex of Stargate: Atlantis) is Conan in this updated version of Conan the Barbarian directed by Marcus Nispel (director of Friday the 13th (2009) and Pathfinder)."The 3D aspect enhances the action scenes and there are plenty of them throughout this exciting sword and sorcery film. The 2011 movie Red State may sound like a political thriller but it's far from that! You see there is this religious cult called the Five Points Church, led by a fanatical preacher Abin Cooper that protests at funerals (no not that group) and have recently been under investigation by the ATF for suspicious activity. The funerals are primarily for gay individuals who have been murdered locally, leading the local sheriff to investigate the leader of this highly controversial religious clan as a possible suspect. Preacher Cooper (played by Michael Parks from Then Came Bronson, From Dusk Till Dawn) and his wife Sarah (played ably by Melissa Leo from Homicide: Life on the Streets, Righteous Kill) seem to get their kicks from trapping, then executing young men, particularly those who appear to be gay. While Sarah Cooper lures the young men with promises of sexual favors, the couple then entraps them and ties them onto a cross with plastic wrap. The targets for their insane games are easily found on internet chat rooms and once they are murdered there will be funerals to which the preacher Cooper will delight in protesting! Business is good at the Five Points Church. Also starring are John Goodman, Stephen Root, and Kevin Pollak.
