Water for Elephants comes out in 2011 as an adaptation from the novel by Sara Gruen published in 2006. The movie, starts as a flashback of an old man and is set during the time of the Great Depression stars Robert Pattinson, of Twilight fame, playing a veterinary student, named Jacob Jankowski, who is orphaned and finds himself jumping aboard a passing train transporting the Benzini Brothers traveling circus. Jacob becomes the de facto veterinarian for the circus animals, including an elephant, name Rosie, who is 'un-trainable' until Pattinson's character finds a way to get through to her. Of course, there is a love triangle involving Pattinson, Academy Award winner Christopher Waltz, and the ever so hot Resse Witherspoon in here as well, but in order to avoid the spoiler, no more will be said. Suffice it to say, those who want to feel that 'tug' at their heartstrings will not be disappointed.

"Confirmation" is a 2016 biographical drama film directed by Rick Famuyiwa and based on the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination hearings in 1991. The movie follows the controversy surrounding Anita Hill's accusations of sexual harassment against Thomas, and the subsequent Senate Judiciary Committee hearings. The film stars Kerry Washington as Hill, with supporting roles from Wendell Pierce, Greg Kinnear, and Jeffrey Wright.

The American is a contemplative movie, yet unhurried and relaxed. Anton Korbeyn, who previously filmed only music videos, directed the movie ideally for the Clooney manner of playing. And that he succeeded. "Perhaps the director's fascination with photography was reflected in the "The American". The film is filled with static plans, where the sound is not important. In terms of speech: it is composed of multicolored mosaic of Italian and English, and the latter felt quite out of place, as the killer himself is an American lost somewhere in Italy in a small quiet town. Minor characters are also transmitted perfectly. There are two faces: a prostitute fallen in a true love, and a priest with a dark spot in his heart, that's a circle of acquaintances of the person cannot make friends. "The only thing that stands out from the track is the ending. During the movie could be the same hope for happy ending, or wait for the sad ending, and the result is an incomprehensible jumble. Caroline and Jackie, directed by Adam Christian Clark showcases us a horrific scenario of one-evening dinner with unexpected quests. The movie centers on two sisters, Caroline and Jackie who seems to be the lovely siblings, but from the very first minute we are to understand that something is wrong with their relationships. First of all, Caroline unexpectedly visits Jackie at her home and invites sister and her friends to the restaurant party despite the fact that Jackie was cooking al the day to have a great dinner with her friends. As Jackie agrees to accept Caroline's invitation she learns that this improvised surprise party was arranged by Caroline to celebrate Jackie's birthday, which passed two months ago. A ridiculous dinner turns to totally boring nightmare as quests gradually immerse into sisters uneasy relations hearing Caroline jibes addressed to Jackie As everybody feels that dinner is broken they finish the dishes hastily and moves to Jackie's house. However, if you suppose that Caroline is the "bad guy" in among the siblings, it means that you dramatically underestimate Jackie's nature. And this is not the end, as the action unfolds it becomes absolutely clear that their friends, both Caroline's and Jackie's are complete ass-holes as well. It's hard to say why Adam Christian Clark so carefully and accurately filmed such a bunch of deranged characters, but nevertheless he made it masterfully.

Steven Soderbergh's Side Effects scheduled to hit the screens in 2013 is centered on unfortunate woman Emily Hawkins who is waiting for her husband to be released from a prison. As the release time comes closer, Emily is showing more signs of anxiety. This anxiety leads to serious psychological issues and Emily takes psychologist consultations. The doctor prescribes a new drug to heal her troubled mind – a brand new wonder of modern pharmaceutical industry. The pills help Emily but incredibly effective medication shows its side effects. Now the issues caused by the pills seem to be much more threatening than initial Emily's troubles. Previously named The Better Pills, Side Effects isn't the first Steven Soderbergh's movie project in the field of "applied psychotechnics", just remember his We Need to Talk About Kevin and Playground; neither for Rooney Mara who plays the leading role in Side Effects, her remarkable roles in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Social Network have showed a great potential of this brilliant actress. The rest of the cast ensemble is awesome too: Channing Tatum, Vinessa Shaw, Jude Law, Catherine Zeta-Jones, David Costabile and Mamie Gummer – not every movie can boast such a set of great actors gathered in single project.
