Mao's Last Dancer movie is a Australian biographical film, directed by Bruce Beresford, based on ballet dancer Li Cunxin's autobiographical book Mao's Last Dancer. Mao's Last Dancer movie plunges us deep into the heart of Mao's Cultural Revolution, where 11-year-old boy Li Cunxin, living in an impoverished mountain village, is selected to learn ballet at the Beijing Dance Academy. On a visit to China, an American ballet director Ben Stevenson is impressed by Li's talent and offers him a three-month stay in the US as an exchange student at his ballet school, the Houston Ballet. In 1979, during a cultural exchange to Texas, he fell in love with an American woman. Two years later, he managed to defect and went on to perform as a principal dancer for the Houston Ballet and as a principal artist with the Australian Ballet.

When I'm not writing about movies and series, I spend most of my time traveling the world and catching my favorite West End shows. My life is also full of interesting books and I'm addicted to cooking. I believe that words can change the world, and I use them to inspire my readers.
