A Working Man is a hard-hitting action thriller that reunited Jason Statham with director David Ayer immediately after their 2024 hit The Beekeeper. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and adapted from Chuck Dixon's novel Levon's Trade, the film pairs Ayer's grimy, street-level style with a screenplay co-written by Sylvester Stallone, giving Statham one of his most purposeful vehicles in years.
Statham plays Levon Cade, a former Royal Marine commando who has traded soldiering for an ordinary life as a Chicago construction foreman and devoted father. When the teenage daughter of his boss, played by Michael Pena, is abducted by human traffickers tied to the Russian mafia, Levon is pulled back into a world of violence he thought he had left behind, cutting a brutal path through the criminal underworld to bring her home. David Harbour, Jason Flemyng, Merab Ninidze and Arianna Rivas round out the cast.
Released in March 2025, A Working Man opened at the top of the North American box office and went on to gross roughly ninety million dollars worldwide against a modest budget, another dependable hit in Statham's long run of blue-collar action pictures. Critics judged it an efficient, no-frills genre exercise, and it became a sizable streaming success after arriving on Prime Video, where audiences kept it high on the charts.
