Do you want to watch the US sports and sport series in Mexico? If your answer is “yes,” an ESPN+ subscription is the perfect match for you. But have you ever tried to access ESPN+ from Mexico?

How To Watch ESPN+ in Mexico Easily in 2024 (Tested Solution)

A Guide on How To Watch ESPN+ in Mexico (Two Easy Steps)

To watch ESPN+ in Mexico in 2023, you need to do the following:

  1. A true residential IP address in the United States
  2. An ESPN+ subscription

Let's see how you can get all two of these, and let's start with a true residential US IP address. What do we say "true"? Because it's not enough to get connected through any US VPN service to access ESPN+!

What are these residential IP addresses? Why “residential”? This is because there are many types of IP addresses in terms of the industry where they are used. But in our case, it is worth knowing that there are “data-center” IP addresses that are used for websites, VPN services, and many other thighs that are “under the hood” of the internet; and there are residential IP addresses that regular internet users have to access the internet. These IP addresses are assigned to the end-users by ISP (Internet Service Providers) like AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, etc.

So what happens when you are trying to access ESPN+ from Mexico? ESPN looks at your Mexican IP address and rejects the connection displaying the above-mentioned error message. In another case, if you are using a VPN to access ESPN+, it sees an American IP address which is OK but detects it as a “data-center” one which is not OK, resulting in the same error message. The only workaround is connecting as a regular US internet user, and the only way to achieve this is to get a residential IP address from one of the US ISPs.

Eventually, this is not an easy task, but quite achievable, fortunately.

Step 1. Get yourself a true residential IP address in the United States to watch ESPN+ in Mexico

If you are located in Mexico and trying to access ESPN+, you may have found that it is not immediately obvious how to do so. You may have even tried using various services or solutions that you found through a Google search, only to discover that none of them work 100%. This is not uncommon, as it can be challenging to find a solution that allows you to access ESPN+ in Mexico without any issues.

In fact, it may have taken you several days of trying various options before you found a solution that works consistently and reliably. It is important to note that the process of finding a solution to this problem can be time-consuming and may require some trial and error before you find a solution that works for you.

The solution that we have managed to find is the US IP providers that you can subscribe to on their website. Also, they offer a three-day free trial, so there is no need to pay for their services now.

It was quite easy to install their app, and there was even step-by-step guidance on how to do it right. It took three minutes for us approximately to get it up and running, and once connected, we checked our IP address using the ipinfo.io tool. It showed that we’ve got the following IP address in Dallas, TX:

As you can see, this IP address is being provided as residential by AT&T, which works pretty well for watching ESPN+ in Mexico. So, when we opened the ESPN+ website, there was no error message, and we were ready to subscribe:

Although it was easy for us to subscribe to ESPN+ in Mexico using the residential US IP address, there are some caveats we would like to bring to light in the next step (just for case you might experience some issues with your Mexican credit card).

Step 2. How to subscribe to ESPN+ in Mexico

Once we hit the “Subscribe to ESPN+ button” (we have no intention of subscribing to the offered “Hulu plus Disney plus ESPN” bundle), we just filed in our credit card details stating our ZIP code as 90210 (it does not correlate with the IP address location you get) and subscribed to ESPN+ successfully.

But have heard from some Reddit users that, in some cases, ESPN+ rejects local credit cards.

So what to do in this case? We have discovered an effective yet simple solution: get an ESPN+ app!

How can this help? Let us explain. With the ESPN+ app installed on your phone, you can create an ESPN+ subscription in Mexico without entering your credit card details!

Hit the Subscribe button under the ESPN+ badge and follow the instructions. That’s how easy it is.

Undoubtfully, cinematography has been my passion since a very young age. Even now, watching a new movie or series always prompts me to ask a lot of questions to the author. Thus, every little essay about a title is definitely not a spoiler, but rather an attempt to explore the idea.
