AVN is the government TV channel of Arlington aimed to inform the citizens about city and county activities and current affairs. AlKarma, or Al-Karma TV is Arabian language channel aimed at Christian community living in the Middle East region. The channel is dedicated to telling the glory of God and preaching the gospel of salvation of Christ to all the people through the dissemination of the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. Al Karma TV channel provides all the teaching of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word of Life Church with the looting of the Holy Spirit. The channel has no political affiliation, religious or sectarian bias. Al Karma tries to provide assistance to the extent possible, spiritually and materially and morally abilities of any person in real need, regardless of their origin, religious or ideological inclinations. Since the early 70's when Chicago State University built the original TV studio the progress has been steady, exceeding any expectations for a student run studio format. The hands on experience has been a valuable addition to the university as a whole. Ever increasing enrollment proves how popular the concept of the student's experience in the electronic media field can be to the individual student with interests in this venue. Located in Douglas Hall, CSU has added on over the years. Audio as well as digital editing suites, camcorders for student use with projects and remote shoots, complete with digital editing suites have made the entire experience inspiring and attractive to the student curriculum. Now the studios run twenty four hours seven days per week and have become quite professional in their output. Local Area Network or LAN lines have been added on to integrate the media among classrooms and servers capable of storing large amounts of information from all systems mean safe storage of info from all departments. While WUWF, the television station representing the University of West Florida, does get a small amount of funding from state and federal grant money, the bulk of its financing is derived through multi-million dollar funding and with contributions from the local listeners and through funds provided from the University of West Florida. The late Dr. Thomas K Perry help found WUWF in 1981 with the intention of it becoming a way to promote and influence local arts while offering the entertainment value of things such as the Pensacola Jazz Festival, Pensacola Cultural Center, Pensacola Museum of Art, and Great Gulf Coast Arts Festival. Several historic theaters and museums have been renovated through the funds gathered in support of them, making WUWF responsible for bringing in those funds in large amounts.
