Councilwoman Melissa Burke known as "Mel" used to be quite the party girl and rebelled against society before growing up and getting serious about her community. Now a dedicated councilwoman, Melissa (played by Melissa Joan Hart from Sabrina the Teenage Witch & My Fake Fiancee) finds she must provide a home for her nephew and niece (her sister's children). Seems that their mom is in jail for money laundering while their dad is on the run after being accused of running a Ponzi scheme. Melissa soon discovers she needs help with her new instant family and hires a babysitter to help out. Joey Lawrence (My Fake Fiancee & Gimme a Break!) plays Joe Longo, a commodities trader, is currently out of work due to the same Ponzi scheme and hires on as the new nanny or "manny". Taking on two youngsters, Ryder and Lennox, is no easy task as both Joe and Mel soon find out. This heart warming family sit-com is full of hope and day to day situations that mirror real life.

Remember Tim "the tool man" Taylor from Home Improvement? Well he's back, sort of. The character Allen plays in Last Man Standing is named Mike Baxter and is practically identical to Tim Taylor in many ways. To make him entirely different would most likely be impossible due to Tim Allen's strong personality and likeability. And while the Taylor character had a wife named Jill (Patricia Richardson) and three sons, Baxter has daughters and a wife (Nancy Travis). Family matters most as it should, especially in the sit-com environment. Mike Baxter also has a "manly" job. He works at an outdoorsy sporting goods store where men buy tents, guns, and fishing gear. Mike used to handle the store's catalog but they seem to be extinct ever since internet sales became so popular. Now his duty is in making promo videos that go up on their web site. Just as with Home Improvement the quality and appeal of Last Man Standing is in the sharp writing and the high quality of the actors involved. Mike Baxter knows far well he's outnumbered with females in his household so turns to his boss (Héctor Elizondo) and friends for some comic relief.

Called an American television sitcom and launched as a midseason replacement for another sitcom titled Man Up that was quickly cancelled we find that Work It simply didn't work! And it was even panned for being insulting for the transgender people out there because it was about two men dressing up as women to keep jobs during this shaky economy. This was in no way comparable to Bosom Buddies which starred Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari and ran on ABC from 1980 to 1982. Lee Standish (Ben Koldyke) and Angel Ortiz (Amaury Nolasco) are unemployed and believe that women are having more luck getting jobs in this recession and decide to dress up and apply as women. Standish find a job with a pharmaceutical company but also find it to be far more difficult to be women than they previously thought. It does show that women and men are treated differently in the working world but ratings were a disaster.

When the son finds he must "man up" after his father is incarcerated for some rather shady accounting practices, life becomes a roller coaster ride for the entire family. Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) is a widower who has a thirteen year old son and finds the entire family needs his support (and common sense) to survive. Mom (Lucille) lives in a penthouse by herself but cannot afford her chosen lifestyle. Michael has two brothers, Buster and GOB, in addition to a sister Lindsay and her husband Tobias plus a daughter called Maeby. They each must learn to cope with their sudden alternate financial dilemma. Seems the family financial assets have been "frozen" due to dad's shifty money handling. Each member of this rather dysfunctional family needs to learn how to cope with limited finances after living a rather pampered existence before dad went off to prison. The show is narrated by a familiar voice (Ron Howard) who is also an executive producer. This "riches to rags" story shows how selfishness and materialism can create some rather unpleasant personality conflicts but a sense of humor will prevail. And there is plenty of humor on this show.

The much loved Disney Channel series, Sonny With A Chance returns in full force minus the title character, Sonny (who was played by Demi Lovato). Seen in each episode of So Random! will be a series of perhaps five to six comedy sketches that include musical performances with guest stars and the "show within a show" style Disney is so famous for. Cast members include Tiffany Thornton (Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place) as Tawni Hart, Sterling Sandmann Knight (17 Again, Starstruck) as Chad Dylan Cooper, Nico Harris is played by Brandon Mychal Smith (Phil of the Future, Starstruck), and Nico's best friend Grady Mitchell (played by Douglas Brochu from iCarly, Pair of Kings). The familiar cast work well together and are friends on and off screen. Demi Lovato who played Sonny left the show for health reasons, confirming in April of 2011 that she would not be returning to the show or the newly formed So Random! With an improve flair So Random! attempts to give the young cast reason (excuses) to act up, be silly, and dress up in a preposterous manner. But it happens to work out very well! Check out the juvenile styled "Wheel of Fortune" version with kid celebrities including Willow Smith (daughter of Will Smith), Taylor Swift, and YouTube whiz kid Fred Figglehorn.

"Dollface" is an American television series that premiered on Hulu on November 15, 2019. The show was created by Jordan Weiss, who also serves as an executive producer. The series stars Kat Dennings as Jules, a young woman who must reconnect with her former female friends after her boyfriend breaks up with her. The show also stars Brenda Song, Shay Mitchell, and Esther Povitsky in main roles. The show explores themes of friendship, relationships, and self-discovery. It received mixed reviews from critics, with some praising its comedic elements and performances, while others criticized its lack of originality. The show was created by Jordan Weiss, who also served as an executive producer alongside Stephanie Laing, Margot Robbie, Brett Hedblom, Bryan Unkeless, Scott Morgan, Nicole King, and Kat Dennings. In addition to producing, Laing was also set to direct the pilot episode. Production companies involved with the series included LuckyChap Entertainment and Clubhouse Pictures. On November 2, 2018, Hulu ordered a first season consisting of ten episodes and additional executive producers were reported to include Ira Ungerleider, Tom Ackerley, and Matt Spicer. Ungerleider was also set to serve as the series' showrunner and Spicer as the director of the first episode. The series premiered on November 15, 2019. The series was renewed for a second season on January 17, 2020. "Dollface" received mixed reviews from critics. The first season holds an approval rating of 59% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 5.8/10. The site's consensus reads that the show has "all of the right parts: a talented cast, a promising premise, and plenty of surreal intrigue—if only its shallow vision of feminism didn't undermine them." On Metacritic, it has a weighted average score of 54 out of 100 based on reviews from 13 critics. The second season of the show has an approval rating of 56% on Rotten Tomatoes, with an average rating of 4.8/10. On Metacritic, it has a weighted average score of 49 out of 100 based on reviews from 4 critics, indicating "mixed or average reviews".
