The first season of this HBO-produced TV show is set in small town Treme three months after Hurricane Katrina has hit the New Orleans area. The leading characters in the TV series are musicians, bar-owners, chefs and Mardi Gras Indians and other odious characters, many of them playing themselves as a jazz trumpeter, singer and composer Kermit Ruffins who take part in the pilot episode and appears through all of the first season (he guests in second and third episode as well). As for Treme creators "“ you definitely know the names David Simon and James Yoshimura, who wrote a screenplay for another HBO TV show: Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets; Nina Kostroff Noble, who brought to you The Corner; Eric Overmyer, a talented writer and producer, who stands behind Law & Order, The Wire and New Amsterdam; Carolyn Strauss, an ex-President of HBO, who was responsible for success of The Sopranos, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sex and the City. This professional team has delivered a buoyant and life-asserting television show about life and struggle of New Orleans residents trying to rebuild their homes, businesses, lives and relationships. These quite a serious, as per common sense things, are presented in very humorous light, making us to believe the everything will be OK with these nice Louisianan folks. The slogan of TV series is: " Hurricanes, Floods, Exile, Crime. Corruption. Betrayal. Greed. Neglect. Is That All You Got?" is colorfully reflects their life-affirming relation to reality, which is worthy of all respect taking to consideration all the circumstances they have been so unlucky to gone thru.

Burn Notice

"Burn Notice" is the drama-comedy TV show featured on USA channel. The title of "Burn Notice" TV show is derived from the term used in U.S. intelligence that indicates unreliability of a certain agent or source of information. "Burn Notice" has its own unique style: the story told by the first person mixed with the "stream of consciousness" behind the scenes on behalf of the former agent Michael Westen, played by Jeffrey Donovan. Having escaped from the mission in Nigeria, ripped by the sudden "Burn Notice", he finds himself in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Next to him, Michael discovers his ex-girlfriend. He is under constant surveillance by the feds, and his personal bank accounts frozen by the government. The only thing he could learn from his chief liaison to the government - some major "boss" wants to keep him (possibly for life) in Miami. If he tries to leave all the police forces of the country his feet will be raised to take him. Westen begins working as a private detective without a license; as a spy-to-hire for those who can pay his bills to finance his own investigation "“ who and why issued the "Burn Notice" against him.

Mercy

One of two intense medical dramas NBC introduced in the fall of 2009, "Mercy" had all the advantages its one-named rival "Trauma" did not. First, it had talent behind the scenes. Liz Heldens from "Friday Night Lights" created the show and led the writers, proving once again that the best way to dramatize the real world is to show it realistically"”ugliness and all. Second, it had attitude and guts to stay true to its revolutionary premise, the well-informed notion "that nurses remain [not only] more generous caregivers, but that they are more intuitively apt, smarter, more committed and as technically able as their [physician] superiors, with none of the accompanying arrogance." In a winner-take-all ER smackdown, you always would go all-in with the Mercy Hospital nurses. The main character, nurse Veronica Flanagan Callahan, has just returned from a tour in Iraq, where she clearly learned more in each day than the pompous, presumptuous doctors learned in all five years of medical school. Of course, Veronica gets neither the respect nor the reward she deserves, but "Mercy" dangles the possibility of true love as just recompense for Veronica's skill and compassion. Taylor Schilling plays Veronica with exactly the right balance of toughness and vulnerability, skillfully juxtaposing her consummate skill as a nurse with her intrepid ingenuousness in matters of the heart. If only "Mercy" had survived into a second season, all the tangled threads in the story might have come to their proper denouement. If only.

A Gifted Man

Very self absorbed, as are many surgeons, Dr. Michael Holt begins to question just what his purpose in life actually is when he starts "seeing" his wife again. The problem is that she is deceased. The degree of self confidence found in Holt and many other surgeons is a necessary part of the talent they must possess but the good doctor now doubts his sanity when the spirit of his ex-wife, who recently died in a car accident, begins appearing to him. Anna returns to convince Dr. Holt to keep a free clinic running. She had been the director of that clinic and was involved with many poverty level patients. Michael Holt however, is not so sure he can deal with the poorer patients as he's not used to that type of people. But there is no room for snobbishness in the medical field and the spirit of his diseased wife is there to see he learns that. Anna's sister Christina is a believer in supernatural events and is happy that her sister is back in Holt's life because she feels the doctor was a better person when his dead was with him. Patrick Wilson (The A-Team, Insidious) plays Dr. Michael Holt, Jennifer Ehle (Contagion, The King's Speech) is Anna Holt, and Christina is played by Julie Benz (Saw V, Punisher: War Zone).

The Young & the Restless

Since the first episode aired back on March 26 of 1973 the two central families, the Brooks and the Fosters had been butting heads in Genoa City, Wisconsin. The Brooks family, you see, are wealthy and prosperous with all the usual baggage that comes with that territory. On the other hand the Foster family remains poor and while they may not exactly pass for "trailer trash" they do manage to act like it. As the years went by however, the central characters left for various reasons so were replaced by two new "core" families, the Abbotts and the Williams. The show also went from a one half hour per day "soap" to an hour long "soap opera" in back 1980. Two of the central characters have remained, to this day, rivals and star performers. Both Katherine Chancellor and Jill Foster Abbott have been involved in many plot twists and turns over the past nearly forty years of the long running soap's history. Major story lines have included sexual relationships involving an early introduction into premarital sexual intercourse, lesbianism, incest, impotence, rape, and even breast cancer, bulimia, and alcoholism, just your basic human frailties and diseases.

Royal Pains

Royal Pains TV Show is one of current rated cable network TV series in the U.S. It's another medical drama that corners the misadventures of an ex-E.R. doctor, Henry Hank Lawson (Mark Feuerstein), turned into an exclusive doctor for the wealthy and famous. This radical career change springs from his expulsion caused by the death of a rich patient under his watch in his former hospital. In Royal Pains TV Show, Dr. Lawson is largely based in the uppity community of the Hamptons. It is local hospital administrator, Jill Casey (Jill Flint) who provides the balance in Dr. Lawson's medical career by egging him to help some poor patients in the area. This TV series is inspired by the rise of the practice of concierge medicine in America.

Ringer

Take a set of twin sisters who've been at odds for many years. Add in the fact that one of them suddenly disappears. And then show that one of them is full of mystery and intrigue, and on the run from some mysterious mob. Here we have Siobhan and Bridget. Two sisters who have been living apart and out of touch for the past eight years, with one taking a road that winds up leading her onto a path that is unsafe and definitely different from the norm that her twin has followed. When the two sisters take a boat trip Siobhan suddenly disappears overboard. Now Siobhan discovers her twin Bridgit has been leading a double life and hers will never again be the same. Siobhan is attacked by some evil men who evidently are part of the mob when she stays in her sister, Bridgit's house. So did one of the twins really die or simply disappear to avoid the mob? Sarah Michelle Geller (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Scooby-Doo) stars as both twins and she has her hands full when she discovers her twin was leading a life full of mystery and fear. Nestor Carbonell (Smokin' Aces, The Dark Knight) is FBI agent Victor Machado who finds his job of keeping Bridget safe a dangerous one. Action packed with top quality writing and actors.
