Secrets We Keep

Secrets We Keep, known in its native Denmark as Reservatet, is a six-part Danish thriller that premiered globally on Netflix in May 2025. A sleek entry in the Nordic-noir tradition created by Ingeborg Topsøe, it uses the gleaming surfaces of an affluent Copenhagen suburb to probe the uncomfortable power imbalances hidden inside privileged households.

The story begins when a Filipina au pair working for a wealthy family in a gated enclave suddenly vanishes, and the official indifference to her disappearance gnaws at Cecilie, a neighbour played by Marie Bach Hansen. As Cecilie starts asking the questions her own comfortable circle would rather she leave alone, she is drawn into a web of secrets involving the families who employ migrant domestic workers and the quiet exploitation that underpins their polished lives. Simon Sears, Danica Curcic and Excel Busano feature among the cast.

Critics welcomed the series as a tense, morally serious thriller that uses its whodunit engine to examine class, race and complicity, and its deliberately ambiguous ending became a widely discussed talking point. A polished, bingeable addition to Netflix's deep bench of Scandinavian crime dramas, it drew comparisons to the streamer's other Nordic hits. It is streaming on Netflix.
