Working with the science, technology, and geniuses afforded by "The Jeffersonian Institution," the FBI solves mysteries wrapped in enigmas packaged in conundrums. Derived from Canadian anthropologist Kathy Reichs's popular series of novels, and loosely based on Reichs's own life and character, "Bones TV show" effectively makes it cool to be smart. The plots elevate forensic science to the status of dramatic art, answering the question, "What kind of story would you get if the love child of "˜House' and "˜CSI' hooked-up with a romantic comedy?" Viewers come for the crime drama and stay for the romance, because the romance makes "Bones" as delicious as it is dramatic. Dr. Temperance Brennas (Emily Deuschanel) and FBI Agent Seely Booth (David Boreanz), take their professional partnership very-very seriously, especially because it provides the ideal mask for much deeper feelings between them. The writers frequently stretch the romantic and sexual tension well past its tested limits and right to the brink of its breaking point. Naturally, viewers constantly hope Brennan and Booth will consummate their love; just as naturally, they understand it never can happen. No tension, no show. Meanwhile, America sleeps safer at night knowing that Brennan and Booth are on the case.

Two half brothers (same father) begin their relationship by hating each other but bond and become best friends through teamwork and learning the truth about their father. Lucas Scott is played by Chad Michael Murray (House of Wax, Home of the Brave) who is recruited onto the basketball team by Coach Durham (played by Barry Corbin from Urban Cowboy & Monte Walsh). Lucas proves to be a talented player and starts out as a rival of his own half brother, Nathan Scott (James Lafferty from A Season on the Brink & Get Real). But soon the brothers learn to care for and respect each other while finding out their father Dan Scott (Paul Johansson from The Drew Carey Show & The District) is the natural father of Lucas yet he never claimed to be. As in real life, the characters on One Tree Hill have their ups and downs relationship wise and when they make mistakes they must pay for them somehow. Each season brings up more interesting reflections on family and life in high school, college, and ultimately after they have become adults proving we all need time to reflect on what we want in our lives.

Tell Me Lies is a television series based on a novel of the same name by author Carola Lovering. The story revolves around two college students, Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco, who fall in love despite their differences in background and personalities. However, their relationship takes a dark turn as they both struggle with addiction and mental health issues, leading to a toxic and manipulative dynamic.

It was good while it lasted. Launched with much fanfare and intense audience interest, "FlashForward" brilliantly recreated the mysterious, fascinating, are-they-prophetic? two minutes and seventeen seconds on October 6, 2009, when almost everyone on Earth lost consciousness of their ordinary surroundings and caught glimpses of their lives on April 29, 2010. An ambitious attempt at transposing Robert J. Sawyer's "high-concept" novel from the printed page to the small screen, "FlashForward" focused on the team of FBI investigators charged with determining what had happened. One of the FBI agents enjoyed the special privilege of seeing his team crack the case in his vision of the future; all he has to do is recreate the six months of investigative work that yield the break-through. Meanwhile, the principal characters attempt to cope with the consequences of their visions for their lives in the present, because they have seen broken marriages, lives lost, and great portrayals on their horizons. Most viewers and critics sadly agreed "FlashForward" unfortunately juxtaposed a brilliant high-tech crime drama on some pathetically ordinary people and lives.

"There are eight million stories in the city that never sleeps," Gary Sinise's unmistakable tenor voices-over the opening skyline shots for "CSI: New York." Apparently, New York's dedicated crime scene investigators also suffer sleep-deprivation, working tirelessly"”some would say obsessively"”to demystify eight million different ways to die in the Big Apple. Sinise plays Detective Mac Taylor, suitably intense CSI:NY unit leader, complemented well by workaholic assistant Stella Bonasera, expertly portrayed by Melina Kankaredes. Together, the lead detectives manage an appropriately colorful team of streetwise geeks and nerds determined always to make their cases well beyond reasonable doubts. Like the others in Jerry Bruckheimer's crime-drama franchise, "CSI: New York" devotes more attention to sophisticated computer work and uber-cool lab procedures than to the old-fashioned business of talking to people. Mac Taylor quickly reminds, though, "We follow the evidence, because the evidence never lies."

For several years, "Law and Order: SVU TV show" has reigned as the most popular title in the "Law and Order" franchise. As the opening intones, In New York's war on crime, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous.," and the Special Victims Unit works round the clock on the city's most gut-wrenching cases. "SVU" has held onto its legions of loyal viewers by delivering hard-hitting, compelling and complicated plots week after week. Over the years, the characters have evolved, but the core cast has remained constant. The consistency and continuity undoubtedly contribute to viewers' dedication to Detectives Elliott Stabler (Christopher Meloni) and Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay). "Law and Order: SVU TV show" also attracts high-powered stars for special appearances in every episode, and it challenges the guests to step well outside their comfort zones, demanding they play parts radically different from roles that made them famous. In recent years, Julie Bowen and Luke Perry co-starred in an episode that told the story of a woman who unwittingly married the man who raped her. Cynthia Nixon of "Sex and the City" fame played a woman with multiple personality disorder; and superstar Sharon Stone has done a stint as Deputy District Attorney. "SVU's" combination of an exceptionally strong core cast plus great guest stars plus intriguing, engaging, labyrinthine plots often "ripped from the headlines" takes viewers on a weekly thrill ride, keeping it riding high in the ratings.
