Netflix's Black Doves is a sleek, supremely stylish spy thriller set in London during the Christmas season, following Helen Webb (Keira Knightley), a political wife who is also a deep-cover spy leaking government secrets from inside the establishment. When her secret lover is murdered, her handler sends an old friend — assassin Sam (Ben Whishaw) — to keep Helen safe while the organization hunts for whoever ordered the killing. Creator Joe Murtagh has crafted a show with an unusually adult sensibility, combining espionage mechanics with quiet, searching drama about loneliness, identity, and the life lived in disguise.

Keira Knightley is magnetic in the lead role, bringing coiled restraint that makes Helen's rare emotional moments land with tremendous force.
