CCTV-11 also known as China Central Television Channel of Drama (or Opera, depending of the translation), is the part of CCTV Network based in Beijing. The channel was launched on July 9, 2001 and dedicated to meet the aesthetic needs of the opera and ballet fans. CCTV-11 brings to the viewers more than 200 types of opera throughout China and aims to promote Chinese arts and cultural values for the world audience via internet broadcasting as CCTV-11. The channel also considered to promote modern Chinese opera and drama outside China featuring very intense programming: Local Opera, Play Park Hundred, Airborne Theater and Beijing Opera.
